They say that when you can have sudden rashes on your usually clear skin, it is for specific reasons and they can be identified for better treatment of the affected areas. These reasons vary from hormonal changes that occur in women every month due to monthly cycles or even factors like stress or simply environmental stressors.

Most of us have already suffered from maskne during the pandemic and it involves unwanted pimples and pimples on the cheeks and jaw. So what does it mean if you suddenly experience rashes on your forehead? We called on experts to explain this event.

Dr Ophelia Veraitch, Official Dermatologist, L’Oréal Paris gives us all the details on why acne appears on the forehead and what are the best ways to treat it.

What are the causes of forehead acne?

 “Acne is formed from excess sebum. The oil called sebum normally lubricates and protects your skin.

She further explains the reasons for acne formation on your forehead below:

Hair Products

Curds, such as gels, oils, or waxes, are linked to rashes known as ointment acne. These products are likely to clog your pores on contact with the skin and therefore, if you do not do this, you may see a pimple appear on your forehead from these styling products.

Makeup

Using makeup on the forehead or wearing hats can clog the skin, leading to congestion and acne. The of wearing a hat in hot weather combined with makeup is a recipe for pimples.

Hormonal changes

Acne can occur at any age, but it is especially common in puberty because the hormone levels flutters. It is also normal to have acne as an adult during your monthly cycles.

Stress

There is a link between stress and acne breakouts, but the reasons are unclear.

Hygiene

Not washing your hair and face regularly can lead to oil deposits with dirt and grime on the forehead, creating blockages that cause acne.
