Beauty Hacks

The Coronavirus lockdown may have affected the beauty routine of those of you who get their face and hair done at the salon. But, there is no need to worry as you can easily follow your beauty routine with simple ingredients available at home. You don’t even need any beauty products if you’re out of supplies.

All you need is some of the simple household items to prepare these beauty hacks. Firstly, you may find these tips as weird but don’t hold yourself back from trying them out.

6 Beauty Hacks To Try at Home using Household items

1. Use Cooking Oil as a hair conditioner

If your hair looks lifeless and rough these days, then it could be because of the damage due to the usage of a lot of chemical products such as gel, serums and styling creams.

Use this free time to give nourishment to your hair so that it looks shiny and soft. After shampooing your hair, use vegetable/olive/coconut cooking oil to condition your locks. Then, wrap your hair using a warm damp towel and leave it for about 10-15 minutes. Then, wash your hair using lukewarm water. Once it dries, your hair will look shiny, silky and smooth.

2. Use Lemons To Remove nail stains

Ladies, if your bottle of nail paint remover is empty then don’t worry as we have lemons. If your nails get stained with turmeric and food colouring dye, just take out a lemon!

Lemons have bleaching properties that help in removing these stains and the odor of cooking meat easily. Cut a lemon in half and rub it on your nails. Leave the juice on your nails for about 15 minutes and rinse with cool water. Moisturize your hands afterward.

3. Use baking soda as a scrub for face and body

This is the perfect beauty hack for acne-prone or oily skin. Baking soda acts as an amazing exfoliator to remove all the dead skin cells and unclog the pores filled with sebum, dirt and a lot of bacteria. Take 1 tsp of baking soda and 3 tbsp of water in a small bowl. Stir it and make a thick paste.

Apply it on your skin and massage it all over your face in a circular motion using your fingertips. Do this for a few minutes and rinse with cold water. Don’t forget to apply moisturizer afterward.

It can also be used as a body scrub by adjusting the proportions. The results are amazing. Enjoy your soft and supple skin!

4. Fabric Softener can be used as a Hair Mask

It may sound like a weird hack but it is better than using the DIY natural ingredients and chemical products. Just grab your fabric softener and pour a little on your hair. Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes. Wash your hair with shampoo and don’t use the conditioner. Your hair will look and feel silky shiny and smooth.

5. Use Cooking Spray To Set your Nail Polish

Every girl hates to wait for their nail polish to dry. One way is to dip your nails in cold water or dry it using a hairdryer. Another super cool hack is to use a cooking spray. Spray a little on your nails and your manicure will dry up quickly! It even helps to moisturize your cuticles.

6. Use Coffee Powder as an Eye Serum

Dark circles are always bothering us. But during this lockdown, we can give ourselves some much-needed rest. You don’t have to buy costly eye serums when you can easily make one yourself at home.

Take a glass jar and add 1 tablespoon of coffee powder and 6 tablespoons of almond oil to it. Now, close it and leave it in a cool and dry place. Strain it and then add 1 tablespoon of castor oil to it. Now Stir it properly and apply it under your eyes twice a day. One time in the morning and once at night. Doing this will brighten up the under-eye area.
