All of us at some point in our life have been uncomfortable in periods, getting period cramps is more common than you think, we are here to tell you are not alone. Period cramps affect approximately 80% of women at some point in their lives. Period pain can affect you from your early adolescence all the way up to menopause. During menstruation, most women experience some discomfort, especially on the first day. We’ll talk about a few remedies with which you can reduce your period pain. 

Use Heating Pad

Using a heating pad can help relax your muscle, it’s great for the first few days when you experience the most pain. Wrapping it on your abdomen can help relax the uterine muscles. Period cramps are caused by these muscles. Heat can also increase circulation in your abdomen, which can help to alleviate pain. When your uterus contracts to shed the uterine lining, you get menstrual cramps. This can result in the stomach, groin, lower back, or upper thigh pain.

Drink Water

Drinking hot water can improve blood circulation and relax your muscles. Abdominal cramps may be more painful if you are dehydrated. Staying hydrated can help to alleviate cramping caused by uterine contractions. You can try taking chamomile, fennel, or ginger tea as it can help relieve menstrual cramps in a simple and natural way. Herbal teas may also provide stress relief and aid in the treatment of insomnia.

Get Massages

Massages can help to relieve uterine spasms by relaxing the uterus. In order to effectively manage periodl cramps, you can use essential oils with carrier oils like olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, and jojoba oil. When massaged onto the abdomen, some essential oils can help relieve period cramps. Oils like lavender, sage, cinnamon, and clove can be mixed with carrier oils and massages to your lower abdomen and back for relief.

Exercise

You might think not moving during your periods is best for you, but trust us it will be beneficial even light exercise releases endorphins, which make you happy, relieve pain, and relax your muscles. Doing yoga can also be a great option for relieving pain. You can also take walk to relieve your pain.

Do Not Stress

Stress always makes things worse, even period pain. To relieve stress you can meditate, do breathing exercises, take breaks from time to time, and do not overthink. If you’re stumped as to how to deal with stress, try guided imagery. Simply close your eyes, take a deep breath, and visualize a peaceful, safe place that is meaningful to you. Maintain your focus on this space for at least a few minutes while taking slow, deep breaths.

Warm Baths

There’s nothing like a warm nice shower when you are feeling stressed to avoid period cramps this is a very good option. This is our personal favorite solution when you shower in warm water it soothes your body, especially the areas you are facing pain. Warmth should be applied to your abdominal, pelvic, and back muscles in order for them to relax, you can also add a few drops of essential oil for maximum comfort.

Avoid Caffeine

Caffeine causes blood vessels to constrict which causes period cramps and can cause your uterus to constrict, making cramps more painful. During your period, switch to decaf. Consuming anti-inflammatory foods may be beneficial like berries, fish, and avocado, you can also drink milk. Avoid salty food, coffee, and alcohol. Try to drink an adequate amount of water to avoid bloating.
