1. The first step is to find out your skin type

Finding out the skin type is important to figure out a suitable skincare routine for you. As everybody has unique skin, a product that works on one person may not work on another person’s skin. You can easily find out your skin type by observing your skin. It could either be normal, sensitive, dry, oily or combination skin.

2. Washing the face twice a day

It is extremely important to wash your face to clear away all the dirt, oil, bacteria and makeup from all day. If you don’t wash your face before going to bed, all the impurities will make your skin look dull.

You should stick to the routine of washing the face twice every day, once in the morning and once at night to remove the dirt and makeup. Splash some warm water on your face.  6. Exfoliate on a regular basis

Exfoliating the skin regularly helps to remove the dead skin cells and the skin feels smooth and glowing. You should exfoliate at least once or twice a week. Intense scrubbing or using rough exfoliators may cause tears in the skin and becomes very harmful so it is advised to use soft exfoliators such as oats or coffee scrub.

 7. Always remove makeup before sleep

You should never go to bed without removing your makeup completely. It may sound like the last thing you would do when you are tired but if the makeup tips are left on your skin for the whole night then it may result in clogged pores and the skin will not be able to repair itself. Hence you may end up facing problems like blackheads, breakouts, excess oil and many other issues.

8. Never forget the sunscreen!

The importance of wearing a good quality sunscreen should never be underestimated. It is a necessity when going out as it helps to protect your skin from the harmful UVA and UVB sun rays due to which various skin problems occur. It may also help to reduce the risk of skin cancer. You may be able to protect your skin from various skin ageing issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, discolouration etc. If you simply use the sunscreen. Sunscreen should have at least 30 SPF (sun protection factor) especially for the fair-skinned people. These days, moisturisers also contain SPF that helps to simplify your routine.

10. Visit your dermatologist for acne problems

A dermatologist is a doctor who treats the skin. A dermatologist should be consulted if nothing else works on your skin. He will dutifully prescribe you with the necessary medications depending on the type of your acne.

11. Eat healthily

It is the most important of all to follow a healthy diet, rich with vitamins and minerals that your skin needs. Important Vitamins include Vitamins B, C, E, A and K that help keep the skin glowing.

Vitamin B – It forms the base of the skin, hair, and nails. Sources include oatmeal, eggs, rice, bananas, etc.

12. Stay hydrated

It is important to drink a lot of water for clear and healthy skin. Our bodies are mainly composed of water and without drinking an adequate amount of water, you will become dehydrated and the skill will look dry and flaky. You should drink at least 2-3 litres of water every day as it helps to eliminate the toxins from the body.

13. Exercise regularly

Exercising helps to keep our bodies in shape and makes our skin glow as it regulates the oxygen flow to our skin.

Be sure to avoid wearing makeup when you exercise. Sweat and dirt will get trapped in your pores and cause you to break-out. It is advised to take a shower or cleanse face properly after a workout. It helps to maintain a good BMI (Body Mass Index) for your age group.

14. Give your body adequate rest

Our bodies need rest so as to repair themselves and have healthy skin. Because of this reason, you should take out enough time for yourself to rest and rejuvenate. 15. Minimal makeup Minimizing the usage of makeup can help our skin to breathe. You don’t always have to use a blush or a foundation etc. Makeup really damages the face care in winter no matter how expensive or good quality makeup you decide to use. For normal days, you can moisturize your skin instead of putting on a lot of makeup. Wear your makeup on the special days.
