Remove the Old Nail Paint

Proper cutting and filing of your nails

After removing nail polish, it comes the time to cut the nails properly and file them. You need to give your nails proper trim, and if you don’t want to face the problem of ingrown nails, then you should cut the nail above the skin area. Never clip the sides of your nail because it can cause the ingrown nail problem. If you love the square shape, then you can cut them evenly in one direction and then you can give little rounded corners. Never use metal filers because these can rip up your nails.

Soak feet in warm salty water

You need to take a large bowl which should be filled with warm water. You can add the bathing salts in it along with your favorite essential oil. If your feet are cracked, then you should keep them soaked in water for a longer time. You can also add a little bit of milk in it so that the dead skin gets removed faster. The milk would also moisturize your feet.

Manage your cuticles

You need to use cuticle remover when your skin is soft due to warm water soaking. It will be easier for you to clean up the cuticles at that time, and the nail polish would look amazing on your nails. Stay careful while you are cutting them from sides and don’t remove the flesh of the toe. If you think it will be difficult for you to remove cuticles, you can leave them as they are.

Scrubbing feet

By using a good foot scrub,  you can exfoliate your feet, and it will become more comfortable when the skin is wet. You need to scrub the heels, balls, and bottom area of toes. If you feel that it is hurting you, then you can stop it because you don’t have to remove your skin. When you see that the skin is becoming red, you should stop scrubbing your feet. If the damage on your heels is extreme, then you should do pedicure once again after seven days but don’t over rub it.

Moisturize thoroughly

Take a good moisturizer and use it after cleaning your feet with a towel. Make sure that your feet are dry enough to apply the moisturizer. It is a great way to rehydrate your skin, which might have become dry due to scrubbing and salts. Use an excellent quality of moisturizer for your feet during winters. In summers, you can get water based moisturizer for your feet.

Polish the toes

Grab your favorite nail color, and you can apply it on your toenails. If there is an excess amount of oil on your nails, you can use the acetone remover. After applying one coat,  you need to wait for some minutes to add another layer of nail paint. You can let your nails dry for some time so that the nail polish doesn’t get chipped when you wear slippers. When the nails have been thoroughly dried, you can go out wearing your favorite sandals or slippers with moisturized feet.
