First, you need to trim and shape your nails. Remove old nail polish with nail polish remover and trim your nails carefully. Make sure you cut it straight and don’t cut the corners too far, as this can lead to sore nails under the skin. Use a nail file to give them the desired look. This is the first and most important step of pedicure at home.
Give your feet a gentle foot bath. In a basin or tub, fill with water warm enough to cover your ankles and add some bath salts. You can also add a few drops of any essential oil of your choice to make your pedicure at home more soothing. Also, add some smooth pebbles to the water. This will provide a gentle massage when you put your feet on it. Soak your feet and relax for 15-20 minutes. Dry them with a towel.
The next step is peeling. Once you are done with the foot bath, pat your feet dry and rub some cuticle cream on the base of each nail. Let it act for a few minutes. Meanwhile, a foot scrub can be used to remove all dry and dead skin cells. Be firm but don’t rub too much. Then wipe off the skin cream and gently press back with the skin extractor.
Once you’ve finished scrubbing, wash, cleanse, and hydrate your feet. Hydration helps smooth, hydrate and protect skin from cracks. Rub a large portion on your feet and massage well. Regular foot massage also helps keep nerve endings stimulated, improves blood circulation, and nourishes the skin and muscles of the foot. It is another important step of pedicure at home.
Now your nails are ready to decorate. Paint it the color of your choice. Always apply a base coat. Wait for it to dry and then apply a coat of nail polish. Let it dry completely before applying the next coat. This will make the nail polish last longer. You can also play with your feet with a nice anklet or toe rings!
