High temperatures in the summer leave everyone exhausted, sweaty, and worn out. To maintain good health, the most important component is to stay hydrated with refreshing summer drinks in the scorching heat. Our bodies lose water at a faster rate when we sweat a lot. Let us rejuvenate and restore our bodies with some of the tastiest summer beverages to beat the heat this summer. We’ve compiled a list of refreshing drinks for you to try this summer.
Lassi
This thick refreshing drink with, a creamy yoghurt-based beverage is a great summertime refresher. The best part is that you can easily customise it with different flavours.
Ingredients needed
1 yoghurt cup
Cubes of ice
to taste sugar
200 millilitres of water
How to go about it:
Crush the ice cubes in a blender.
Blend the yoghurt, water, and sugar together for a minute.
Nimbu Paani
Here comes the most popular summer refreshing drink, homemade nimbu paani, or lemonade. The best part is that it only takes a few minutes to make this. To make it more flavorful, add spices like cumin, coriander powder, black pepper, and others.
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons of sugar
5 tablespoons lemon juice
season with salt to taste
1 tbsp mint leaves, fresh
As needed, ice cubes
How to go about it:
Combine water and lemon juice in a glass.
Mix in the sugar thoroughly.
A pinch of salt can be added to balance out the tang.
Add the ice and thoroughly mix everything together.
Buttermilk
Buttermilk, also known as chaas, is a delicious yoghurt-based beverage popular in India. Chaas is also a great digestive aid.
Ingredients:
2 cups yoghurt (plain)
2 green chillies, chopped
1 tablespoon coriander leaves, chopped
curry leaves (four) if needed
1 tsp rock salt (or black salt)
2 quarts of cold water
How to go about it:
In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients without water first.
To thoroughly blend, use a hand blender or a whisk. The mixture should not have lumps.
Stir two cups of cold water into the blended ingredients.
Refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve it. Allow the flavours to meld for at least 20 minutes.

Aam Panna
Mango, the king of all fruits, is used to make a delectable refreshing drink that is especially popular in Maharashtra. On hot days, this drink keeps you hydrated as well as active.
Ingredients:
100 g mangoes, uncooked
sugar or honey as per taste
2 teaspoons of salt
2 tsp rock salt (black)
2 tsp cumin seeds, roasted and powdered
2 tbsp mint leaves, finely chopped
2 c. liquid
How to go about it:
Boil the mangoes until the flesh is soft and the skin has turned brown.
Remove the peel and squeeze out the pulp once the mangoes have cooled to the touch.
In a blender, combine the ingredients and then add two cups of water.
