What’s Face Yoga? Can Face Yoga Improve Your Appearance?

We are all familiar with the bliss of yoga, for mental and physical health, with the many benefits it has to offer. There are endless poses to improve your flexibility and improve your health from head to toe. But what about your face? Have you ever thought about that? Today, Face Yoga is a legitimate form of skincare that has exploded during the lockdown. Here you will find more information about face yoga: what it is, its benefits, and what you can try.

What is face yoga?

“Like the rest of our body, the face and neck are also made up of muscles, 57 to be exact,   that need physical activity to stay strong and firm. Face yoga is the use of hand movements to exercise the muscles of the face “. It requires minimal effort and provides maximum benefit. In fact, focusing on Face Yoga improves both beauty and health, improves muscle strength, skin tone, increases blood flow, collagen, and elastin, and stimulates the lymphatic drainage system,” says Aditi Shorewal, Wellness Enthusiast and Founder of Lilaa Organic Skincare If that doesn’t impress you enough, face yoga also has the ability to improve the appearance of your face giving it a firmer, more youthful appearance as it involves sculpting and contouring the face.

What are the benefits?

“When combined with high-performance skincare formulas, facial yoga can provide younger, rejuvenated skin in just days,” says Shorewal. “Face yoga is a quick, easy and effective way to sculpt, firm, and brighten skin. It is also my own personal care practice and has added a sense of relaxation to my daily life. It has improved my overall health, including confidence in my skin and my mental health. As your skin matures, you begin to notice a lack of collagen (responsible for a firmer appearance), and sagging begins to appear. Fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and sagging skin are by-products of this phenomenon. But many people are always looking for natural and chemical-free ways to treat skin problems. Now, the face of yoga is exactly that. What could be safer than your hands without any product?

What difference can you expect?

“With regular practice, it has strengthened the muscles in my face and neck, giving me a natural, non-surgical facelift. In fact, in the first few weeks, I noticed a significant reduction in fine lines and a double chin. I also noticed a big difference in my skin, it became clearer and brighter. There are no surprises, as face yoga helps detoxify the body by improving circulation, lymph flow, and detoxification,” shares Shorewal. “I do five minutes of Face Yoga in the morning to revitalize my skin and then again before going to bed It lowers my stress levels and gives me a good night’s sleep, which is absolutely essential for glowing skin,” she says, explaining her yoga facial regimen.

Moves You Should Try ASAP

“Face yoga works the epidermis, or bottom layer of skin (muscle and fat tissue), the dermis, or middle layer (connective tissue), and the epidermis, or top layer (cells), says Shorewal. So, we are sharing three easy moves through which we can perform comfortably.

We’ll start with the forehead, focusing on the horizontal lines and wrinkles. Place your fingers in the center of your forehead and sweep outward in horizontal lines, repeating three times. This relaxes the anterior muscle and releases tension that can cause deep frown lines if left unresolved.

Then move to the eye area and focus on reducing puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines, as well as stimulating blood circulation. Using your index fingers, wipe directly under your eyes from the nose outward. Repeat it four times. The skin should never be pulled. This movement relaxes the circular eye muscle.

Next, we’ll work on the cheeks, addressing sagging, loss of volume, dull skin, and nasal folds. Puff up your cheeks, as if you had a mouth full of water, and close your lips. Begin to inhale and exhale deeply through your nose. Then transfer the air from cheek to cheek. This can last up to 30 seconds and, if comfortable, can last up to a minute. This works the bicep muscle.
